WELCOMING THE NEXT GENERATION
Tao of Wellness is proud to introduce Yu-Shien Ni as our newest Clinical Fellow, representing the next generation of the Ni family’s healing lineage.
Since 1976, the Ni family has carried forward a living tradition of Chinese medicine rooted in Taoist wisdom, compassionate practice, and whole-person care. As the daughter of Dr. Mao Shing Ni, Yu-Shien continues this lineage not only by heritage but through rigorous training and clinical excellence.
She earned her Master’s degree and is completing her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Yo San University. Her training includes residency at the Blount Community Clinic, where she received the Clinical Excellence Award, and advanced classical study in Taiwan with renowned TCM physician Dr. Ivan Yi-Kai Hsiao.
Before entering Chinese medicine, Dr. Yu-Shien studied Environmental Biology at UC Berkeley and worked in environmental sustainability, helping institutions develop long-term, systems-based solutions. Today, she brings that same perspective into her clinical practice, honoring the classical foundations of Chinese medicine while integrating modern functional approaches. Her work focuses on digestive health, women’s health, reproductive medicine, and orthopedic care, with an emphasis on resilience, prevention, and long-term vitality.
With Yu-Shien Ni’s arrival, the lineage continues with our healing team that includes Drs. Daoshing Ni, Mao Shing Ni, Albert Vaca, and Shannon Lawrence—rooted in tradition, responsive to the present, and committed to serving future generations.
